Re: Mike Yeo FIRED

https://twitter.com/roscoepee78/status/1064917227722420225 Blues fans making themselves look real good on social media these days Ha! That is pretty funny. Though, in this tweeter’s defense, if he’s 25 years old Robinson retired before said tweeter was born. I won’t be too outraged if a kid who’s i...

Re: #1

Matthews is is a stud and will score 600 goals in his career if he stays healthy, but IMO McDavid is the best player in the world.

It’s nice to have an American in the conversation, though.

Re: Opening Night Roster

I love the fact that Kyrou is playing on a skilled and experienced line. Fantastic opportunity for Kyrou, for sure. If they click and stay healthy, he’s going to have a hell of a season. On a semi-related note, how is his name pronounced? I’ve heard announcers say it both Key-roo and Ky (rhymes wit...

Re: Opening Night Roster

The lines at practice today were as follows. Which I'm guessing is what we should expect Thursday. Maroon - ROR - Tarasenko Schwartz - Schenn - Kyrou Steen - Bozak - Perron Blais - Thomas - Barbashev I love the fact that Kyrou is playing on a skilled and experienced line. Fantastic opportunity for ...

Re: Jaskin and Thorburn on Waivers

Mildly surprising that two guys that have been NHLers for a while are both being waived, but I can’t say I’m disappointed. Thorburn is redundant—an enforcer who rarely fights and almost never wins. Hell, he was playing for perhaps his career yesterday, and was on the ice for the Wilson hit, yet he s...

Re: Corey Perry had knee surgery. Expected to miss 5 months

At the risk of stating the obvious, it looks like Perry’s pretty much done as an impact player. He’s 33 years old and the past few years his goal totals have been 17 and 19. Now this season is all but written off for him, too. Maybe he’ll have a Jagr-like career renaissance, but I doubt it. He had a...

Re: Yzerman stepping down

Seems to be odd timing. Isn’t it more common for guys to step down before the draft?

Regardless of his reasons, it had to be tough for him to walk away from the stacked team that he had assembled.

Re: Modano & Roenick

My first instinct was to say Roenick, as I typically prefer guys who play with an edge, and I was an enthusiastic NHL 94 fan.

However, it seems that by most metrics Modano was better. He just wasn’t as flashy as JR.

Re: Ranking best decades - THN

I watched The NHL during (for all intents and purposes) the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, and played the game during the 1950s and 1960s, and a little in the 1970s. I watched all levels of Junior leagues and Senior leagues, various minor pro leagues in the 1950s to now, and s...

Re: Ranking best decades - THN

I feel like the 90s should be broken into 2 categories. As a whole, not great though. Yeah the first half of the 90s was pretty incredible. The second half, not so much. I blame the Red Wings. I’m putting the blame on the Devils. Those Wings and Avs teams were pretty exciting, even if you hated the...

I'll take a third round pick.
Doesn’t JayBo tend to play well in contract years?
I believe it’s called Brewer Syndrome.
