Conditioning needs maintenance.
Yes, naturally. Being as well conditioned as one possibly can be entails maintenance.

Re: Oshie in a Deal for Rick Nash?

I think a more realistic scenario is trading for players with comparable salaries and who are similarly in need of a change of scenery. Trading for so...

Re: Oshie in a Deal for Rick Nash?

For me, we should be trading for YFHC (younger, faster, hungrier, cheaper) not someone else's high-priced castoffs and rejects. Especially with Hitch driving the bus.His two-hundred foot game requires speed and endurance. He burns up his veterans by the playoffs,,,,they have nothing left by then. So...

Re: Potential free agent target

You almost never get the bang for the buck with UFA's that you get with players under your control. The way I see it, the salary cap gives you very few bullets in the UFA gun and you'd better get it right. Pass on Williams for fear that he's on the decline. Very risky.

Re: Thanks for nothing Erik Johnson

I understand what you are saying, but everyone though EJ was the #1 player in the draft at the time. It's easy to criticize now, but did people think this back then? No...the entire previous season every expert said you would be an idiot not to draft Kessel and a lot of fans and experts speculated ...

Re: Tarasenko or Kane

I already made that case insideout. Kane has more playoff goals, playoff points, and most importantly a lot more clutch goals than Tank in the playoffs. In the regular season they are about equal with Kane getting more points and Tank getting more goals. Kane was about to be the 1st American to win...

Re: Tarasenko or Kane

For those of you who think Malkin is a playoff god just go to the Pittsburgh board and see how they ripped on him these past few playoffs. I know he won a playoff MVP several years ago but Phil Esposito said himself that collectively Russians are great but individually they're overrated. I think an...

Re: Tarasenko or Kane

Tarasenko was excellent in the playoffs, and Malkin won the Conn Smythe trophy. The lowly Wild shut Tank out in 3 or 4 out of 6 games! Imagine what the Hawks or Ducks would've done to him. For regular season success Tank may have a slight edge although very little because Kane would've likely won t...

Re: New fast and reckless Blues

When Hitchcock was hired, he talked about how he would adapt his style to the way the game is now played. And every offseason he talks about making changes. He says things indicative progress. Maybe I'm missing something, but I haven't picked up on much change to his approach. I've noticed subtle ch...

Re: Phil Kessel

Kessel strikes me as the type of player who could thrive in the presence of strong leadership but would be toxic in the absence of strong leadership, and the Blues do not strike me as a team that has strong leadership. Mentally weak team + Phil Kessel = Yikes Kessel may not be a cancer, for all we ...

Re: Tarasenko or Kane

Kane wins in all categories. Especially if you want to win in the playoffs which Blues fans would give their right arm for. Look at the scouting report on Russians. Sure they are flashy and do well in the regular season but often disappear when it counts in the playoffs. Tank was a ghost in game 6 ...

Re: Schmaltz

It seems like a loophole that needs closing IMO. There isn't really a way to do this if you come up through Canadian Juniors, because if you've got NHL aspirations you're going to have to go through the system in place of juniors, minors and then the NHL. Otherwise you're just shooting your career ...

Re: Glaring difference!

You would never hear him say "another shot high and wide" under any circumstances - even if calling a Blues game. There's no verb in that sentence. You might, however, hear him say "<player name> rifles a shot high and wide," or "... whistles a shot high and wide," or &...
