Re: Miklasz out at PD

Good news is, he's going to be doing a 3 hour show on 101.fm
I was middle of the road on Bernie as a columnist, but I always enjoyed his work on the radio.

I wonder if he's also going to be a caretaker in the sense of helping Shanny get his feet on the ground over the next two years.

On the other hand, my hope is that Gunny has played so well that he cannot be replaced, thereby making the overall starting 6 much better.

Re: Alexander Steen's impact

Even if you subscribe to the theory that Steen is on the downhill side of his career, which I don't, the question is, how do you find someone better this season? As for Boyes, I'm amazed that any nhl team would sign him to a contract, 18 goals or not. He is the softest, most non involved player in t...

Re: Prospect Camp

I also wanted to point out that at the end of the first practice yesterday, who was the first one helping the staff retrieve all the pucks and then the first one on his knees putting the pucks in the bucket....none other than Robby Fabbri. Pretty cool to see him setting the example for the other gu...

Re: Frank is signed!

Well, this should quiet the screaming for a day or two. Then, it will all start all over again.
Glad to see the 8 year contract. Makes this deal very sweet.

Re: Ken Wilson just interviewed - 95-96 Blues should've won

Frankly Wilson had more big calls for the Blues than Kelly did. At least the ones that keep getting rebroadcast. Dan Kelly wasn't just a legend in St. Louis. He was revered all around Canada too. If you weren't around to hear Dan Kelly, you have nothing to base that comment on. It's just your specu...

Re: Patrik Berglund...

I understand most won't agree with me and the 100 foot view of his play may not help my argument, but.... I think Berglund has demonstrated the most continued growth of his game of any of the "boy band" era. He came in as a perimeter goal scoring center, was asked to find a net front pres...

Re: Ken Wilson just interviewed - 95-96 Blues should've won

Barnburner, I never said Wilson was perfect. So maybe he didn't go to practices or do promos with the team. Don't make him out to be a serial killer. You realize how many vices some broadcast legends have? I read stories about Harry Caray getting drunk and pinching women yet he's still considered a...

Re: Ken Wilson just interviewed - 95-96 Blues should've won

What kind of work away from the game do you mean? He has also done baseball games and as recently as 2012 did some Mariners games. Blueshistory, it was more than just the moment. Are you saying any Tom, Dick, or Harry could've made those calls as memorable? I don't think so! Even Frank said Ken's M...

Re: Stastny...a 2nd look

I tend to agree. As in the case of Jaybo. I tend to look at last season as the exception, probably injury related. Both have been too good, for too long, to think they lost it overnight.
I fully expect both to revert to form this season.

Re: Ken Wilson just interviewed - 95-96 Blues should've won

Ken Wilson was just interviewed on CBS sports 920 am a few days ago and he said the 95-96 Blues team was one of those rare teams that had 7 hall of famers and should've won the Cup! He mentioned Gretzky, Hull, Hawerchuk , Glenn Anderson, Grant Fuhr, Chopper, and Pronger. Ooops. I guess his memory f...

Re: Oshie traded to Caps

Brouwer looks like he can take care of himself when he drops the gloves. He definitely finishes his checks. Team toughness is good. Yes, and it goes beyond fights and bone crunching hits. Brouwer, Bortz, Lindbohm, etc, won't shrivel up and disappear when things get tough. Win or lose, they will sta...
