If Steen is at the center of the rumored locker room rift, could he be pressboxed until he requests a trade? I'd love to see a signed Steen game-worn sport coat show up in the 50/50 raffle.

I think the consensus is the NHL point system makes it harder to recover. If you got a bunch of teams ahead of you in the standings and they're playing each other and the games end up being 3 point games, it makes it real hard. While the season is indeed getting close to being too far gone to recover, the NHL points system actually allows for teams that are seemingly out of it early to come charging back with strong second halves. I'd still rather have this roster and this record than last year's roster and their record at this point in the season. That said, something has to change. The division's too tight for us to go much longer like this, regardless of the reasons.
