Re: Playoffs?!? (2023-2024 Edition)

He gets full credit for Trochek, but Zibanejad has been there for 8 years. He got a good deal on the extension though. Locking up your pending Free Agents to good contracts is a major part of the job. It's been a sore spot for Army. Yeah I'm not saying he's done a bad job by any means, just that he...

Re: Playoffs?!? (2023-2024 Edition)

The counterpoint to that is he inherited a team that was close to being ready to contend and merely kept the train on the tracks and watched his young goalie become a top 3 guy. That's not an insult, as we see many GMs come in and ruin a team by trying to put their stamp on it right away. They are ...

Re: Playoffs?!? (2023-2024 Edition)

Army absolutely took Chris Drury to the woodshed in his very first trade as a GM, but since then, I don't think anyone in the league has done a better job of building a complete roster as he has. Just a deep team stocked with scoring and toughness. They may be the team to break the President's trop...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

Never quit. Jaromír Jágr took the ice on Thursday for the first time since turning 52 years old and passed Hall of Famer Gordie Howe as the oldest professional hockey player. Playing for Rytíři Kladno, the Czech team he owns and operates, Jágr scored during a 7-2 win over VHK Vsetín in Game 2 of th...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

At least we aren't alone. The college experience is far more enticing to these players than another year in the OHL or wherever else they might be. Wonder if this becomes more and more prevalent and we see more cases of guys just enjoying college for 4 years then picking their team or at the very l...

Jim Montgomery and Rod Brind'Amor army could try and coax to stl as well....
Hard to see Monty leaving his current situation in Boston to retool in St Louis. I suppose if they have another first round flame out though maybe both sides could be looking for a change?

Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

We have officially reached the off-season so kick starting a thread. Curious what, if anything the Blues do with their goalies. They have one of the best duos in the league and both would have a lot of value on the open market. There was the Binnington rumblings but if the Blues decide to commit to ...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

I think it's a college vs AHL thing. They get some money now and get big man on campus status. If they were 100% sure they'd be in the NHL instead, I think most would come out. The Canadian Junior guys don't really have a choice. I think Snug and Leonard were both pretty much assured of NHL minutes...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

All for naught for Perron and the Wings as the Flyers needing to win in regulation pulled their goalie in a 1-1 game and Washington scores the empty netter to get the two points clinch the final wild card spot, led by Charlie Lindgren in goal. Wild chain of events there as an OT loss would've put t...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

So we've reached the last day of the regular season. I suppose the most pressing decision the Blues have is what to do at Head Coach. Bannister has a record of 30-19-4 at the moment, good for a .604 points percentage. I don't know about you but that exceeded my expectations. Was that turnaround his...
