Re: GDT: Blues v. Pens 11/30

Well , I gotta say it emanates from that goaler we got, hes got skill, confidence, and an edge that's been missing for a couple decades. I shudder to think what this team would look like if Jake was the man. Agree there. However, it seems even Allen has played better. Perhaps team confidence has oo...

Re: Thank you Judge Houston!

Not sure of the math here. Eighteen years later would only be 2009! Am I missing something? Should be 28 years later, right? Even if it was the year Binnington was drafted (2011) it would be 20 years! Bernie is a bit out of touch with the calendar, eh? Tell me I'm wrong here.

Re: NY Times: As the Blues Seek the Stanley Cup, a Hockey Hub Grows in St. Louis

Even tho he left town at an early age, perhaps 7 or so, one additional name should be added to that list; Pat LaFontaine!! Born in St. Louis he and his family moved to Detroit, probably following the father who possibly worked for Chrysler, or perhaps Ford since both companies had large assembly pla...

Re: GDT Game 3: St Louis Blues (1) at Dallas (1) - 7:00 - NBCSN - Mon 4/29

Can’t help but remember when Miklasz ripped on Maroon when the Blues were struggling and Maroon got asked about what’s wrong with the team and Maroon fought back and said I’m a believer in success stories and I believe in my teammates and we’re going not giving up. And Bernie ripped him for that? B...

Re: Vince Dunn

I don't see him making an abundance of throw away passes, ala Petro. Nothing irks me more than to see a defenseman trying to emulate Pronger with a 60-70 foot pass to nowhere. They usually end up coming the other way. Skate with the darn puck!!!! Make a shorter pass when your target is in the clear ...

Re: Boomer changes his mind...

Keep in mind that I'm older than dirt... But..... Who the hell is Boomer? 😀 I'm glad you asked because I've been wondering too. I'm glad both you guys asked cause I'm in the dark too. Boomer Esiason is the only Boomer I'm familiar with and he played football. BTW dirt is a lot younger than me too.

Re: GDT: St Louis Blues at Philadelphia - 6:00pm - FSMW/KMOX - 1/7

Did anyone notice who Philly's backup tender was? Mike McKenna, a St. Louisan still in the NHL. Never knew Mike but I was familiar with his father, Terry. Terry is a dentist in West County but he's also a race car driver of note. In the '70s Terry was one of the best open wheel drivers in the countr...

Re: GDT: St Louis Blues vs Sabres - 7:00pm - FSMW/KMOX - 12/27

And that's bad news. All it takes is 1 or 2 small losing streaks and this team will be toast. There's no room for error. Keeping roster intact, missing playoffs and not getting top 10 pick will be a complete fail. I don't follow the draft shenanigans that closely but I do have a question - do we ha...

Re: GDT: St Louis Blues vs Sabres - 7:00pm - FSMW/KMOX - 12/27

because sorry Billy P and Tim, as I got a feeling this team won't be in the bottom 10 when the season is over. And that's bad news. All it takes is 1 or 2 small losing streaks and this team will be toast. There's no room for error. Keeping roster intact, missing playoffs and not getting top 10 pick...

Re: So who are the 'problem players?"

I agree with that. To me, I want to see ROR, Kyrou, Schenn, Thomas, Edmunson, Bortz, Parayko, and Barbashev stay. I would hope Army explores trading Petro and Tarasenko, because they could bring back the kind of talent that would make this team better for now, and the future. If Binnington plays we...

Re: Friedman says

There is no leadership on the ice, period! This is a physical game, play it physically please!! Sure we've got fancy ice dancers out there but when push comes to shove ice dancing doesn't win games. And boy do these guys get shoved around in their own end. Come on Petro, get in their faces or give u...

Re: Not our captain.

Just my two cents; Leaders don't have to be captains, but a captain had better be a leader. Sorry, but Petro does not exhibit the "follow me at all costs" inspiration desperately needed by this squad. They all tend to play like him, talented but uninspiring.

CaptSMRT wrote: Fri Nov 09, 2018 11:30 am I wouldn't be surprised if Maroon had an injury that they didn't want to list...he looked really slow in the last game.
Didn't he have some kind of back surgery over the off-season? Could be a symptom. However, I don't believe he was ever a quick skater.

Re: Men's Frozen Four

A "few" years back I was stationed in Duluth and on occasion would go to the Bulldogs home games. If anyone remembers the name, Chico Resch, was in goal for them at the time. He went on to a decent career with the Islanders, preceeding the infamous Billy Smith.

Re: GDT: Blues at Wild 7 pm NBCSN

Lots of fans on Twitter going after Stillman. Not really sure what he’s supposed to do about this. I guess he could fire Army, but that doesn’t really make sense to do considering he’s had a pretty good year trades wise. Just re-signing Berglund AND bringing back Sobotka for 3 years was just dumb. ...

Re: Who here has ever met and/or hung out with a Blues player or St.Louis pro athlete?

Quite a few years ago I was working on decorations for a special event at a private school in West County. My "right hand man" was none other than Bob Forsch, the only Cardinal to have two no-hitters to his credit. Very nice, unassuming gentleman. My wife was a teacher at the school and Bo...
