Re: NHL Overtime. Too many ch?

So, as the OP, I greatly failed in my post. I do not know what the "ch?" is. I did not type that in, and yet it appears in the title and in the body. My initial question had more to do with, are there too many games going into overtime right now? Around 25% of games are going to overtime, ...

NHL Overtime. Too many ch?

Not sure if this normal or not. Also, trying to get some opinions/thoughts as to how much overtime is too just ch.

So far, 190 games played, 45 have gone to overtime (I think my math is right). About 25% seems like a lot of loser points being obtained.

Re: Thomas

I recall hearing that the 9 game trial is not as important to teams any longer (still matters some). The more important number is somewhere around 36 gamesfor the team. That will mean the season counts towards number of years necessary to reach UFA status.

Re: Must see T.V..

I do think last night was just a team being exhausted and unable to keep it going full tilt. The defense is exhausted, so they are not able to jump into the play as much and take chances. I also really was surprised Hutton did not start last night vs. Arizona. I think it was a crucial mistake. Inste...

Re: GDT Blues vs. Maple Leafs - 6PM @ Air Canada Centre FSMW - FSGO - KMOX - NHL APP

I agree Sobotka was terrible tonight. I have not been impressed by him most of the season. And why on Earth would Yeo put one of the slowest guys on the ice, that clearly is having a tough game. Yes he is typically a possession guy....but his speed is awful. Tonight, most plays that went to him, wen...

Re: Today's hockey is kind of lame

One major change...the overall quality of players. In the 80's there was a tremendous gap in talent. You had super-elite players, then you had 3rd line players that wouldn't make today's NHL. This also led to Star players playing more time, and is part of why you had so many players scoring 90+ poin...

Game 4 - opinion

I was at the game, I sat in corner glass seats (first time ever doing that). I was very disappointed in the Blues game. Curious how others saw it, especially 24 hours later. Faceoff losses. Not tenacious (minnesota was). Minimal time to react, minimal possession. Not much pressure on net. 4th line w...

Re: The Deadline thread

As long as we don't get a wore contract in return.
Bobby Ryan has around 6 more years at 7.5 mil. He has basically becme a 20 goal 30 assist guy over last 5 years. Too much $$$ tied up for too long.

Winter Classic Rink Layout?

Has anyone found or heard how the actual rink will be laid out? I've heard/read some thoughts in the past that the rink might have one end aligned with the first base line, and the other end going into left field. Any real info yet? Also, I thought sometime soon there was supposed to be pics of the ...

Re: BluesTalk bullshit

I still read the other forum a lot. Rarely is there anything of quality, but I am a junky for Blues news. The reason I have soent time there, and less here is: 1. Volume - much more activity. 2. Quick news and response. Seems like topics are covered immediately over there. I question my sanity from ...

Re: Pietrangelo

I think Pietrangelo has improved at playing the puck in the offensive zone. He can handle going deep into the zone and being more patient than the last couple years. The biggest issue is not scoring goals and difficulty getting puck on net. I actually think there has been a marginal improvement at g...

Bill Armstrong interview

Wednesday evening, I heard most of Andy Strickland's interview with Bill Armstrong, about the prospects. I'll try to write what I can recall Parayko - said he is a presence. When drafted they foresaw a number 5 deman, maybe even a number four. Now he has exceeded all their expectations and looks to ...

Re: Backes Negotiations

Good. All this talk of trading Backes sounds like overthinking.
I believe We need more centers of quality and more Backes type players, not less.

Honestly, get Hitch to really "buy- in" to a new strategy, or time for him to move on.

Re: Are We Really a Better Team?

They made the postseason in each year Armstrong was GM. They've made the postseason just once in 7 years since. I'm not sure what to think about this team, or Armstrong. I've been a big supporter, but I am nervous about decisions to come. The quote from above, could make the point of ratonmono........

Re: Petteri Lindbolm

I just hope he is allowed to play his style. His attitude and then desire to jump into play needs to be welcomed, not constrained. Tired of trying to mold every forward into a 2-way thinker and every defenseman to play cautious. Let what works for a player to get this far, work for the team.

Re: Andre Benoit

Articles I'm referring to. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/hockey/professional/armstrong-content-with-blues-changes/article_b0faa8d6-e198-5518-86fc-f7818b2b0e27.html “You have to create space when you see someone like Lindbohm coming along,” he said. “We were going to be different regardless.” http:/...

Andre Benoit

Slipping through the cracks today.....The Blues signed Andre Benoit.
I guess this is an insurance policy? I hope management sticks to the plan they stated just a short time ago, where the Lindbohm, Bertuzzi types get their playing time.
